2008 NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY PARK’S You can download a registration form by
clicking here POINTS WILL BEGIN WHEN A DRIVER OR TEAM SIGNS UP FOR THE "1320 CLUB". The points will begin on Saturday, May 3 and end on Sunday, October 12. There will be one Wednesday night points race in 2008, our MID-SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP, WEDNESDAY, July 30, 2008. Class winners for the night will run-off for a 2009 SEASON PASS at the FRIGID NATIONALS. Points will be given to drivers, not cars. Points are calculated by your assigned number. It is the driver’s responsibility to use the assigned NY Int’l Raceway Park number on a weekly basis. Drivers must check their points on a weekly basis and notify the timing tower of any discrepancies in their "1320 Club "points or the Summit Super Series points. SUMMIT SUPER SERIES In 2008 NYIRP will be participating in the Summit Super Series Program. To be eligible for the Summit Super Series you must join the "1320 Club" Points Series, and obtain an "X" number from IHRA. Team drivers will be allowed, but they MUST register as a team when signing up for the "1320 CLUB" Points. The fee for co-drivers is $35. TEAM MEMBERS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RACE EACH OTHER UNTIL WE REACH THE SEMI-FINALS. TEAMS WILL BE ASSIGNED ONE CAR NUMBER. The driver running for the points must use that assigned number. In the event that both team members are racing on the same day, the person running for the points will use the assigned team points number. The other driver must use a different number. Points will be given as follows: 1 POINT FOR EACH ROUND WON Double Points Day is: Wednesday July 30 In the event a driver is racing in two classes the driver must notify the timing tower officials, prior to the first round of competition, as to which class he would like points calculated. If the driver fails to notify the tower before eliminations begin, the class in which the least amount of points was earned is what we will count. Registration fee will be $60 per driver, which includes permanent number registration. Permanent numbers may be obtained from New York International Raceway Park. Drivers should familiarize themselves with the Wisenberg Insurance Waiver & Release of Liability. (copies available upon request) TO RECEIVE YOUR PRIZE MONEY & AWARDS, THE WINNING DRIVER MUST PERSONALLY ATTEND THE AWARDS BANQUET. BRACKET FINALS NY Int’l Raceway Park will be forming a team of 36 competitors to participate in the 2008 Bracket Finals held at Pittsburgh Raceway Park, Pittsburgh, PA on September 25-28, 2008. In 2008, the Bracket Finals will be run on a QUARTER MILE. The number of competitors from each eliminator that will make up the team will be determined on a percentage basis of the number of entrants in the points program for each eliminator. The number of eligible participants from each eliminator will be determined on August 9, 2008. The points standings as of September 14 will determine who is eligible to participate in the Bracket Finals. GRAND CHAMPION The Grand Champion will be determined by racing the Super Pro, Pro, Street and Bike/Sled points winners on October 12. The Grand Champion will receive a Grand Champion Jacket, 54 Gallons of Racing Fuel, 2009 reserved pit parking, Grand Champion Trophy, exit gate privileges, and a Hotel Suite at the HOLIDAY INN of Batavia. (Prizes cannot be substituted for cash) In the event of a rain-out on October 12, the final points day and Grand Champion run-off will be on Sunday, October 19, 2008. In the event of a rain-out on October 12 and October 19, the Class Champions will be determined by the points standings on October 5. The Grand Champion will be determined by a drawing.
